Congratulations to #12 - gccmom!!
Please email me at admin(at)fabricseeds(dot)com to claim your prize!

December the Seventh

This week has gotten away from me.
The kids and I have chest colds, although I hope we are  finally on the mend
 - I'm getting the shakes today - yuck!
I'm trying my best to reply to everyone's comments. I might be a late in doing so.

I just want to go to bed!

Today I'm giving away an Olive Swing Bag Pattern by Betz White.

Betz White - Olive Swing Bag

I made this bag earlier this year for my sister. You can see it here.
It sews incredibly fast, I'm talking complete bag in less than 20 minutes! And it comes with a sunglass case pattern that is easily made from the leftover fabrics.

To be in the draw, leave a comment telling me who would make this for if you won.
One comment per person. Open to everyone.
Winner be drawn tomorrow, by Random.

(I may or may not reply to comments on this one. Please do not hold it against me if I don't. I plan to spend a good part of the day in bed.)

Oh, and there's still time to enter the Sew Mama Sew giveaway here.

Olive Swing Bag

When I saw the Olive Swing Bag pattern at the Quilt Market last Fall, I knew immediately I wanted to make it for my sister. I waited for her birthday, which was last month. I even had her come over and pick out the fabrics she wanted, not knowing what they would be used for.
The pattern was so easy, and only took about 20 minutes. I was even being dumb and only half reading the instructions, because I only cut out half the pieces needed. One outside and one inside. I sewed the wrong pieces together and had to unpick. It still only took about 20 minutes. The bag is reversible. However, I opted for a different closure than the pattern calls for, so it is not reversible. I used a magnetic snap, which I found on clearance!

As a bonus, there is an additional pattern included to make a soft case for sunglasses, using the leftovers from the bag. The bag seemed a little empty still, so I made a little booklet cover I had seen on her Pinterest page. Both of things were quick and simple, and were used from the leftovers of the bag.

The fabrics used are Sugar Floral in Pink from the Sugar & Spice collection by The Quilted Fish
And Haybale in Yellow from the Farm Fresh collection by October Afternoon.
The Olive Swing Bag & Sunglass pattern can be found here.
The booklet pattern can be found here.

Fall Market Patterns

I ordered a few new patterns from the Fall Market, and they are starting to arrive!!
I have 3 new patterns to introduce you to today.
First up is Sophie's Pinwheel Quilt from the Pink Hippo.
The cover features the So Sophie line from Riley Blake Designs, and the quilt hung as part of the display in their booth at market. (I still have not been able to retrieve my market pictures. It's making me sad. I have lots to show you, too)
This quilt is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Next, I have 2 new patterns from Betz White, which also debuted at the market, along with her new line 'Stitch.'
Two great, new bags for anyone on a budget. Betz's patterns can either be made new, or make do!

The Cailtyn Handbag can be made using new materials or repurposing old neckties.
Featuring deep pleats that reveal contrasting color. I love, Love, LOVE this bag!

The Olive Swing bag is revesible and comes with an added pattern for a sunglasses case.
This pattern can also be used new or with two pillow cases.

I can't wait to make these bags.
Now, I just need to find the time for some "me" sewing.
Although, I believe, they have just made their way on to my gift list.
