Daydream - Month 4

I know I'm a little behind on the Daydream Block Of The Month. Month 5 was sent out yesterday, And I just barely got month 4 done the day before. At least it was still in June!
I'm a little slow in getting the pictures up, mainly because I plugged my camera in, and then forgot about it, completely draining my battery and having to wait for it to charge again.

I really like this month's block. This is a great example of how color selection and placement can really change the look of the same block.

Side by side. Like night and day.

If you're interested in signing up for this BOM, you can find all the information here. Don't worry about signing up late. The BOM will start with you. And, if you like, I can offer you a kit deal, and get all the blocks at once! (at least the first 5)

This week I was determined to get caught up. So far, I have been able to finish blocks 3.
And here they are ..

There are still a few spots open for this BOM. If you'd like to join, click here.
I may be on month 3, but you can start at any time! You can also 'catch up' to the current month, and get all previous months at once!

Daydream - Month 2

I'm a little late in posting this month's blocks for the Daydream Block Of The Month
Last week was pretty much a whirlwind. My plans to sew up these blocks were interrupted with a trip to the hospital for my boy who needed some stitches. Which turned out to be a longer stay than anticipated. He was non-compliant, and ended up having to be fully sedated. We then had to make a second trip to the hospital after the stitches popped a couple days later.

This week is faring much better already :) Yesterday was a fairly warm day, so while the kids were out playing with friends, I was able to get this month's blocks sewn.

You can sign up for this BOM at anytime by clicking here. This is a 6-month program, available in 2 colorways. To see what's new at Fabric Seeds, click here.

Toes In The Sand - month 11

It's hard to believe there is only one more month to go in the Toes In The Sand block of the month. Personally, I have really enjoyed this BOM. I am even contemplating making a few of the blocks again for a separate quilt.                    Here is month 11, with a fun little triangle ripple effect.

Toes In The Sand ~ Month 9

October has been a busy sewing month already! I have been busy making Halloween costumes for my kids. I can happily say I am 99% done. Now, if only I could find where I put the eyelets to finish up my little girl's costume .. hmm..

So, we are on month 9 of the Toes In The Sand block of the month.
This month was so fun to make. I did have a mishap of cutting the first jewel piece the wrong size, but lucky for me, it was too big instead of too small. This may have been the most exciting block for me, thus far. This is such a great block to showcase those awesome little octopi.

I tried to fussy cut the sea water just as well, but I was a little off with direction as I stayed up a little too late cutting this one. Hence why I also cut the wrong size with the blue block too. I'm a little embarassed to say it took me a few minutes to figure out where I went wrong.
All in all, it still looks good :)

Toes In The Sand month 7

July just zipped right on by! I can't believe we are in the start of August. I was just looking at when I last posted, and it too was about the Toes In The Sand block of the month. Seems like it was just last week, and not a month ago.

Here are the blocks for month 7. I love that these fabrics can easily be fussy cut to fit the blocks, and there is still plenty to play with there is a mess up. If you'd like to sign up, there are a couple spots still available.

Toes In The Sand month 6

Um, somehow the first day of the month came and went without me realizing it. I'm a day late, but kits for month 6 of Toes In The Sand Block Of the Month are going today. I'm attributing my forgetfulness on the fact that the rec center in my neighborhood is doing free spin classes for the month of Tour De France. Yesterday was the first time I have ever done spinning. I went to the 545am class. By the end of it, I could barely walk. Why do those seats have to be so uncomfortable! I went again this morning, and am much more sore than yesterday. I'm told it takes about a week for soreness to go down. UGH!

Here are this month's blocks. If you'd like to join this block of the month, there is still a few spots open. You can play catch up and get all 6 months at once, or do them one at a time. Sign ups can be found here.

Toes In The Sand ~ Month 5

Wow! I have seriously been lacking in the blog department lately. This warmer weather has been great for us! Even though I have several posts I should be writing, I find myself pre-occupied with summer fun! I'm also feeling a little bit of project overload. That feeling of needing/wanting to get everything done at once, but only being able to work on one thing at a time. I've got 2 major projects I'm working on now and 1 I'm waiting for inspiration to hit. I'm hoping to finish up one of them today. If all goes well, I'll have a picture worthy post soon.

Month 5 of Toes In The Sand block of the month was sent out last week. Late last night I realized I never posted the pictures. So, here they are ....

Okay, back to my outdoor project and the kids that are anxiously waiting to paint.
Hope y'all are enjoying yourselves!

If you have already signed up for the Toes In The Sand block of the month, your kits were sent out yesterday. If you haven't signed up yet, there is still time! The BOM wasn't supposed to start until March 1st, but I was able to get some kits cut earlier and I didn't want to keep everyone waiting for another month.

This is such a fun quilt to make. I loved working with Salt Water. I keep staring at it, thinking of what I can make next. I have some ideas. And, Julie's patterns are so simple to follow; with step by step instructions and great illustrations to follow. A great combination all around!

Here are the first month's blocks

I hope you'll join me in this great block of the month! You can find more information on it here.

Toes In The Sand ~ a Block Of the Month Quilt

It didn't seem like I had enough time to show you everything when I got back from Market last Fall. I'm not sure why now, but seems like I got caught up in something and was pretty busy. I had plans to show you pictures from Market when certain things came out, like Salt Water by Tula Pink. I sat down a couple weeks ago to post about Tula Pink's awesome booth she had and while searching pictures discovered all of my market pictures have some how been deleted! There's been a few problems with my computer, and the result was to reinstallations, within a month. Somewhere, the file containing market was not backed up, and since I had already downloaded all those pictures, they were also deleted from my SD card :(

So I won't be showing you any awesome pictures from Market, but what I will show you is how awesome Julie Herman's new Block Of The Month looks with Tula Pink's Salt Water!

Toes In The Sand is a 12 month, block of the month program that features 12 unique blocks all created with the Hex 'N' More ruler. There are no pesky Y seams! Each month you'll create two blocks from the same design. Creative fabric placement with make your quilt appear to have 24 different blocks.

Julie has done a great job creating this block of the month book. Just as with all of Julie's patterns, her instructions are simple, easy to follow and accurate. Each block is easily put together. I think the longest one took me an hour, cutting and sewing for 2 blocks. The Hex 'N' More ruler was so easy to use. It seriously is a favorite. And even better is all blocks are made out of fat eighths! Giving you the versitality to for different color placements, if you so desire. And fussy cutting ... I fussy cut several blocks and still had enough to cut the rest of the block and had leftover in case of a mis cut.

Wanna join in this great BOM? You can sign up here!
