Baby Aa

I have been doing a lot of baby sewing lately!
My friend just had a little boy a couple weeks ago, so of course I had to make him something to welcome him to this world!

Last year I came up with a monogram for my niece. It has become my favorite pattern. But it looked a little girly, so I came up with a more boyish monogram for this little guy. I absolutely love it! It's one of those things I wish I had thought of when my little guy was a baby :)

I also made a self-binding blanket and burp cloths to match. I took the leftover from the blanket and used it for the Aa applique.

I love sewing for babies. It make me smile :D

Appliquéing

It's no secret that one of my favorite things to make for a new baby is appliqued onesies and self-binding blankets with burp cloths. I've made quite a few custom made onesies for my niece when she was born, and again at her birthday a few ago.

This past weekend, my sister decided she also wanted to make some for her friends' baby showers coming up in a few weeks. Here are the onesies she made. I also showed her how to make the self-binding blankets, but they weren't finished when I took pictures.

I think these onesies turned out so adorable!

For baby girl...

For baby boy...

Baby {D}

A while back I was going through my photos and discovered some projects I never posted about. I've been slowly catching up. One of those projects was for my little niece, who just so happens to be celebrating her first birthday today!

The pictures I found for her were actually from her baby shower. Which got me thinking that I never posted about the onesies I made her. Come to find out, I didn't even take pictures of them! Or if I did, deleted them before actually transferring to my computer. -- Luckily my sister doesn't live to far away (unlike my brother, who we visited in Oklahoma earlier this Summer), and I was able to get some photos to share with y'all :)

I wanted to personalize her onesies, and came up with this monogram. Which I instantly fell in love with and have made for just about baby born since!

And what girl wouldn't love a pair of ruby slippers!?!
These shoes are another favorite of mine.

I was told that this ladybug onesie inspired a nickname for my niece :)

Group shot!
I made these onesies in sizes from 0-3 month to 12-18 months.
I'm glad to see they've been used well. And have held up well too!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Baby {S}

I'm pretty sure that 90% of the women I know are expecting; And all with in weeks of each other! That just means I get to spend some time making cute little onsies and blankets for them all!

My cousin is no exception to that number. She is expecting her first baby. A little girl! I attended her baby shower over the weekend.

One thing my cousin loves is animal prints, especially leopard. So, I had to make a cute little pair of leopard print shoes!

She is also decorating the nursery in pink and gold. These monogram onsies are my new favorite thing to make.

I found some pink zebra flannel (squeel!) and matched it up with pink dot minky for the self-binding blanket,
along with a couple of burp cloths out of the leftovers. Yep. I'm loving how it all turned out :)

Monograms

The other day I whipped a quick self-binding receiving blanket for a dear friend of mine. This being her second baby, I wanted to do something special for both of her girls.

SO....

I customized some matching T's;
monogrammed to their names, in parenthesis.

Here's the whole lot.
Complete with matching socks :)
