Best Day Ever!

Otherwise known as the day I went skydiving, for the first time! It was truly an amazing experience. I am so happy that I took the chance to go skydiving. It is something I have dreamt of doing since I was a kid. There was 6 of us that went, myself, hubby, 2 cousins and 2 of their friends. my hubby's aunt and uncle came along to watch us. We drove to Moab, Utah, which is gorgeous! I have not been there since I was 14 or 15. Beautiful red rock everywhere, and home to the Arches National Park.

We were taken up 2 at a time. Somehow I ended up  being the very last person to jump. We sat in a teeny tiny plane that parts of the interior were being held up by duct tape, and barely enough room for 4 people to cram into. It took about 20 minutes for the plane to reach an alititude of 11,000 feet. As soon as it was time to jump, everything went so quickly, there wasn't enough time to think about being nervous. For me, I thought the free fall would do that thing to your stomach when you're going to fast over a bump and it feels like it goes into your throat. That didn't happen. It doesn't even feel like falling. I barely even remember feeling the wind, except for when I smiled at the camera, and my mouth starting flapping in the wind (I can not wait for the video to come!).
After the parachute was deployed, I got to 'drive' for a little bit, which was kinda like driving a car. You want to go left, pull on the left, and so forth.

Okay, okay, enough rambling. Here's some pictures.

look close and you can see me in the upper right corner, with hubby in the lower left corner.

I get the video in about 2 weeks, and if y'all are interested, post it here too.
Should be pretty entertaining.

The day after I got back, my friend brought me a quilt she wants me to quilt for her. I spent the day pin basting. My legs are pretty tired from that. I plan to start the quilting today.

  1. Shut up! That is amazing--congratulations on your dive! I will never jump out of a plane, but I still think that's so cool that you've done something you've always wanted to do. :)
