Little Witch

A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine asked me to make her daughter a witch  costume for Halloween. The day she called, I was happily stitching away at my daughter's witch costume (still need to take pictures of that. I am falling behind!). Of course I was happy to help my friend out. I followed the pattern as it was, but had figured some alterations would be needed after the first fitting. Here she is in her costume to see how well it fit.

The jacket turned out AWESOME! We found this great sheer spiderweb fabric and lined it with orange sateen. The dress is made from the same sateen. The hat was done in the same fashion as the jacket and then tied with an iridescent orange/purple wire ribbon. The dress was really simple and kinda plain. I did have to take it in quite a bit at the bodice. The hat was a little too small, so I made a bigger pattern for a second try. I am not an alteraltor, but I think the end result turned out pretty good. The second hat even fit on my head!
She sure does make a cute little witch!

I finished Paisley's witch costume last week with adding the final touches to her hat. I have Argyle's costume half way done. Mostly I just need to finish his accessories.

How are your Halloween projects coming along?
